How to Add, Delete and Copy Files to Apps from iTunes

The method of moving documents between your PC and your iOS device is not known by everyone. Users have only left emailing option for transferring documents which is not always a suitable way. So, here is a better option than emailing. You can use iTunes which can also handle this job for you.

Here is how to add, delete and save a document from the App of your iPhone or iPod device with iTunes.

How to add documents to the App of your iPhone

Update the iTunes of your PC after completing update restart your computer. Otherwise, maybe it will prompt to update when you start the process.

Open the ‘iTunes’ and when iTunes prompt to update it>click ‘Download iTunes’ in the prompt Window to begin updating.

  1. Plug in your iPhone or iPod to your PC.
  2. Click on the ‘Device’ tab on the left side of the iTunes main page and wait to open your device page.
  3. Now, click the ‘File Sharing’ option in the Settings section from the left side of the page.
  4. Click and select an app from the list of the Apps to which you want to add files. You’ll see the contents of that app on the right side of your screen.
  5. Scroll down and click on the ‘Add File’ button at the bottom-right side of the window.
  6. Navigate to the file location you want to add.
  7. Click and select a file to add to the app.
  8. Click ‘Open’ or ‘Add’ from the bottom right corner of the window. Doing this will add the files to the documents section of the selected app.
  9. Click ‘Sync’ to upload the file and wait to complete sync.
  10. Click ‘Done.’

Now, you need to return to the main page, and the files are uploaded into the selected apps.

To delete or copy a file from the App:

  1. Plug in your iPhone or iPod to your PC.
  2. Click on the ‘Device’ tab on the left side of the iTunes main page and wait to open your device page.
  3. Now, click the ‘File Sharing’ option in the Settings section from the left side of the page.
  4. Click and select an app from the list of the Apps from which you want to delete or copy a file. You’ll see the contents of that app on the right side of your screen.
  5. Select a document from the list of documents at the right side of your screen.
  6. To Delete: Press delete button of your keyboard to delete the document from the App.
  7. To save a file on your PC:
  • After selecting a document,
  • Scroll down and click on the ‘Save to’ button at the bottom-right corner.
  • Select a location on your PC to store the documents.
  • And click ‘Select Folder’ to save.
